Local Woman Hits World Record $4.1 Million Jackpot
She Is Second MegaJackpot™ Winner at Spirit Mountain This Year
A Portland-area woman playing a nickel slot machine at Spirit Mountain Casino on March 4 won a world record
$4.1 million jackpot to claim the largest payout ever awarded on a 5¢ slot machine.
Wishing to remain anonymous, the woman was playing one of her favorite slots, the popular Wheel of Fortune™
Special Edition when she hit the nationwide progressive MegaJackpot™. "My first reaction was to start crying,"
she said. "I will give 10 percent of my winnings to charity and then retire my husband.
He has worked real hard and deserves it. Because my husband won't be working, now we can do the things we thought
we could never do."
Spirit Mountain Casino has had three winners hit the MegaJackpot™ since November.
A woman from Alaska won $1.2 million on November 29 and another Spirit Mountain guest claimed $607,992 on Feb. 18.
The Portland woman was paid $4,121,445. MegaJackpot™ slots are linked to other machines at approximately
150 Indian casinos located across the country as part of the 15-state Native American progressive gaming network.
