McMinnville Woman Claims $33,000 Bingo Win
She Completes "Blackout" Card on the Last Number Called
Joy Hoggatt, of McMinnville, knew she was getting close to "blacking out" all the numbers during the evening session of Grand Ronde Progressive Blackout on August 2nd. As the numbers were being called, she carefully marked them on her card, but it was her friends sitting nearby that excitedly informed her that she had won the $33,000 jackpot... on the 50th and last number.
Still in disbelief, Joy began to shake as her big win sunk in. Her friends hugged and held onto her to calm her down. It took even more convincing when she called her husband Dino at work who is an air traffic controller. Bingo Lead Cynthia Stanley-Adams finally had to get on the phone as well before Dino accepted the great news that his wife had indeed claimed the progressive jackpot.
Joy, a paralegal who works at home and Dino are regular weekly visitors to Bingo at Spirit Mountain. Joy went to pickup Dino and returned to the casino when his co-workers jokingly said he was now "useless on the job" and sent him home.
